I saw you speak last November at Kos Pharmaceutical's last manager's meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. It had been announced several weeks before the meeting that our company had sold to Abbott Pharmaceuticals and there wasn't one person there that was happy about it. Somehow, your energy transcended our down mood and broke through to us. Remembering the "break the board" exercise and at first thinking that there was no way I was even going to attempt it, and of course I did and it snapped right in half,
Your entire seminar came rushing back to me today and I'm re-reading your book, Beyond Success. Last night my husband & I watched the movie "The Secret" by Rhonda Bryne. You popped into my mind because there is a common theme: Focus on what you do want and not on what you don't want.
I was very, very fortunate with Kos. I was one of the relatively few people that received a generous severance package. I now have the luxury of finding the ideal position for me. I can picture it, I know what I'll be doing, I just need to find it.
I have spent the last 20 years working in either a customer service, sales (inside and outside) and or training. I've had management jobs and other leadership positions. I was even a Franklin Quest FFT trainer prior to Franklin Quest joining forces with Stephen R. Covey! I've been a life-long Franklin follower. Its time that I take everything that I've learned and be in the position that I can continue to learn new things each and every day and train others to find their passion. I love to train, I love to help people transition into a company, develop skills to further their careers in a company, and ensure that a company's culture and values are fully integrated into employee's every day work.
My passion and energy for learning will fit at the company that I end up with.
I wanted to thank you and reach out to you, albeit 6 months late, and let you know that what you did for those 80 managers made a difference.
