I was compelled to write you to tell you how you changed my life and to say Thank You. I'm a 55 year old wife, mother, grandmother and CNA.
I have had a few moment in life that were life changing. I married my best friend and love of my life. I have 3 beautiful amazing daughters and 2 great grand kids. I Thank GOD every day for the many blessings we have. And the day I met you.
I met you at the Care Giving Conference for Americare in St. Charles Mo. at the Ameristar Casino on Feb. 21, 2012. I just wanted to say you are a amazing speaker and person. You have found your special calling.
For whatever reason I can't understand you chose me to be the one to brake the first board,. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. I still don't know why I followed you to the middle of that room, but I did. I thought I was going to pass out or worse wet my pants!! I am not a brave person usually and can be a little shy. But I trusted you for some reason. I had been listening to you all day about how we were going to brake a board, I thought it was a way for us to mental picture our one thing that stops us from being or doing better. I never thought we would brake a board.
I wrote self-doubt on my board and on the other side I wrote things like be a stronger person, become a CMA and be a stronger team person at work. I listened to every thing you said about not looking at the board, so when you took that board from me I never looked at it again until you were holding the 2 pieces of the board.
It was one of the most life changing moments of my life, I feel like I can do any thing I set my goals for, I am not to old or to anything else. The first thing I did, was talk to my DON about CMA classes. She was almost as proud of me as I was when I passed my state test last week for my CMA.
So again I say Thanks for helping me with my break through. Please keep speaking, there are other people that need you also.
